DETOMASO has an eventful and meaningful history. A good 20 years ago Richard, a successful IT entrepreneur, decided to leave his company in pursuit of something more. Wanting to free himself from the hamster wheel of his company, he jumped in his 60s convertible to set off on a road trip through Italy. Inspired by the feeling of freedom when behind the wheel, he decided to translate the Italian attitude and lifestyle into a watch. It was this day a new watch brand was born — DETOMASO
Years later while back in Italy, Richard met Mark a young manager whose life situation was not too different from his two decades ago. Twelve bottles of Peroni later, they decided to team up with a collaborative vision — to breathe new life into DETOMASO. Formed on a handshake deal, a new partnership was born. They scoured different regions of Italy in search of a manufacturer to produce the finest Italian leather bracelets, a glassmaker to craft their watches, and local designers to recreate the Italian essence. The watch brand’s pulse was jumpstarted and like 20 years ago, started to thrive.
